Rippe & Kingston Appoints John Boyd Chief Product Officer
Rippe & Kingston, a leading provider of financial and practice management solutions for law firms, is pleased to announce that John Boyd has been appointed Chief Product Officer. Boyd, who brings nearly 20 years of experience leading product teams, joins from GE Aviation, where he served as Enterprise Product Chief Technology Officer.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have John on board as our Chief Product Officer,” said Tom Obermaier, Chief Executive Officer at Rippe & Kingston. “His demonstrated excellence in devising technological solutions to real-world challenges uniquely positions him to accelerate product innovation at Rippe & Kingston. John’s expertise will help us revolutionize law firm operations by transforming the automated capabilities of our existing software so as to predict the immediate needs of individual attorneys and legal staff and deliver exactly the right suggestion at exactly the right time.”
As Chief Product Officer, Boyd will drive the development of progressive solutions that will continue to simplify law firm operations while easing administrative burdens for lawyers. He will be responsible for identifying specific challenges faced by law firm management and optimizing processes based on how attorneys and legal support staff function on a routine basis. His work will entail leveraging the latest technologies to unlock new possibilities within the Rippe & Kingston Legal Management System (LMS) and the recently introduced LMS Mobile app, ultimately empowering customers to advance the performance of their practices and better serve their clients.
“Rippe & Kingston has a stellar reputation in the legal technology marketplace for good reason, and the opportunity to help the company raise the bar even higher is a challenge I look forward to taking on,” said Boyd. “It’s gratifying to be a part of a company where my work and that of my team has such a clear and immediate impact. The input we receive from customers day in and day out, and rapidly incorporate into our offerings, is as valuable as it is motivating.”
An expert at merging sophisticated data engineering with software solutions, Boyd’s experience leading product teams in developing cutting-edge solutions tailored to industry-specific needs includes not only his leadership role at GE Aviation, but his decade-long tenure at Cisco where, as IT Program Manager, he led the construct of various revenue accounting applications.
Boyd earned his B.S. in computer science with a minor in mathematics from Virginia Tech and has obtained several professional certificates including an ESI Master Certificate in Project Management. He is also Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and a Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
